Janett Liriano defied these odds, becoming one of only 30 Black or Latina women to raise over $1 million in venture funding. In 2021, Janett and her sister, Erika Liriano, co-founded INARU, a company dedicated to innovation and impact. Together, they secured $1.5 million in venture capital, a milestone that not only advanced their mission but also placed them among an elite group of women who have overcome fundraising barriers.


Beyond her own ventures, Janett has co-raised over $10 million for clients and partners, showcasing her unparalleled ability to secure funding and create financial opportunities for underrepresented entrepreneurs. Her legacy also includes her role as the former CEO of LOOMIA, where she pioneered six patented technologies in textile circuitry, revolutionizing the industry and proving that Latina innovation knows no bounds.

In 2020, Janett co-founded INARU, a company revolutionizing the cocoa industry by prioritizing ethics, sustainability, and economic empowerment. Backed by the 1517 Fund, she secured $1.5 million in seed funding to expand INARU’s impact and reinforce ethical business practices.


Under her leadership, INARU has partnered with over 400 farmers in the Dominican Republic, ensuring that small-scale producers are not just suppliers but shareholders with a real stake in the business. By building a transparent supply chain, INARU creates organic, high-quality cocoa products that uphold fair trade and sustainability standards.


Janett has also elevated INARU’s media presence through Vettify, leveraging strategic visibility to amplify its mission and global reach. Her work redefines ethical capitalism, proving that profitability and purpose can coexist and that Black and Latina women belong at the helm of venture-backed companies.
